At the foot of the 2,941-meter-high Hochkönig Massif lie the snow-assured villages of Mühlbach, Dienten and Maria Alm. Here you are in Austria’s largest ski area, the Ski Amadé. Since in winter the clouds above Mühlbach, filled with snow, are caught in the massif, much more snow falls here than in other regions.

The entire Ski Amadé ski area is fully developed. From Mühlbach you can take the gondola to the ski area where there are no limits to discover the huge area. With 270 lifts and 760 kilometers of slopes, Ski Amadé is the largest ski area in Austria.

The Hochkönig ski area has 120 kilometers of slopes, many lovely alpine huts, a (children’s) ski school, cross-country ski trails, three fun parks and miles of winter hiking trails. Everyone, from beginners to professionals, will find his or her perfect slope in the Ski Amadé ski area. There are new routes to discover every day.
Ski schools for all levels, whether skier or snowboarder, are in the immediate vicinity. The “Hochkeil” ski area is especially suitable for beginners. This area is about 15 minutes by car from the chalét or can be reached by shuttle bus.

From Mühlbach, Dienten and Maria Alm you always enjoy a wonderful view of the Hochkönig Massif. The villages can be reached quickly by modern high-speed lifts and a free shuttle bus.
The bus stop is 50 meters from the house.
Snow- and Freeride-Parks (“Blue Tomato Kings Parks”, “Snowpark Livingroom” & “Funslope Schönanger”), cross-country skiing trails (“Night Trail” near Maria Alm & the “Hochlagen-Loipe” near the Arthurhaus) and cross-country trails can be found many times in the Ski-Amadé ski area. The 4 kilometer long route starting at the “Alpengasthof Kopphütte” is suitable for tobogganing.
